　　Regards Patrik aka. cArn

Sitting here on the train back home from a busy weekend at the CeBit Exhibition in Hannover Germany, and trying to recall what went wrong at the finals of ESL Masters finals.
Well, a third place is still a third place. But I don′t think anyone in the team are that happy about our game there. It felt like every decision I made ingame just went bad and the matches we won were abit too close.
The record from the tournament was 3 to 3 in wins versus losses, and I really believe we are too good to play this unstable.

Sometimes CS is so ridiculous close, that one minor step ingame can destroy the match, for example versus Pentagram(PGS) at the consolation final.
We opened up with a pistolround win as CT, though PGS got the bomb planted they decided to buy the following round. A thing you usually doesn′t do since its quite risky. Anyway, they managed to win this round after some crazy deagle shots and we went back to 1.5k$, which in CS terms means “double eco”.
This makes the game 1-3, and PGS have boosted their economy. I think this CT side ended up 5-10 after all and we didn′t managed to get our terrorist game together and PGS once more beat us(the first time was in groupstage).

What I am trying to say, CS and other sports too, can be so hard to beat. I mean there is so small moments in the game changing the whole match. Gunrounds is still in my opinion a too big part of the game when you are playing best of one map.
Even if you have awesome tactics, crazy aim and feeling comfortable with your game while practicising back home, you can still have a bad day loosing to teams that usually don′t beat you.

I don′t trying to steal some credit from PGS and h2k who beat us this weekend.
I truly respect them as players and team, and I dont want to make any excuses, my point is it′s just quite impossible to win every match you play even how well prepared you are.
CS is still a game of skill and dedication, but there are many tournaments and lots of matches played each month. If you want to bring home the trophies, you have to win the right match, at the right time.

In the end of the day(Sam quote), I′m still proud of be a part of fnatic. We once more showed, with our training and combination of awesome players it is possible to achieve a top 3 place, even though I can′t say we did a good tournament.

Anyway, the whining is over. Back to training with the team.
2007 will be full of tournaments. We will as always do our very best, and hopefully this year can be a even more succesful year than the previous.
Let this year be a year we beat the game, even if the wheel of fortune is spinning in opposite direction, against all odds. . . .

A big thanks to all that supports us, organization and fans.

Hey guys,

I just woke up here in New Delhi, India. Yesterday we went for some early morning “spa” and worked out some in the gym. The breakfast here is really good; fresh orange juice, waffles and a nice chef making custom omelets for you. For a lazy kid like me, it’s nice to eat a big breakfast once in a while. After breakfast and all that we met up with Manish – our guy here from Reliance World – and went to the event for a day with some interviews and show matches. Everybody here are really, really nice to us, and it feels really good to be able to communicate in English here. One of the things on our agenda yesterday was to answer questions from the local teams. We got super good questions about different scenarios in the game and our training regime, but even though we tried to answer the questions as good as we could, we would’ve probably done a better job with some whiteboard or something to illustrate what we were trying to say. I hope that the teams were happy with our answers anyway.

After some pizza from Dominos we went home for some well needed rest. Some of us were a bit jetlagged and it felt really good sleeping two hours before dinner. For dinner, Reliance took us to a really nice Indian restaurant, we’re we got a taste of the Indian kitchen and there were a lot of really nice flavors and an overall good time. Some of us (I didn’t) had some green chili and it was a blast see ins, cArn and f0rest getting their mouths set on fire. For a moment I almost felt a bit sorry for them, but overall it was great fun. After the dinner we went looking for a club together with Manish, but we ended up driving the wrong way and when we finally got to the club it was a bit too posh and sort of expensive with a lot of older guys with whiskey in their hands. Not really our cup of tea. The club closed at 01.00 so we went home and had some sexy time with our laptops and some series and movies instead. Overall it was really great night together with the team and the Reliance guys.

Today we’re going to play the winners of the tournaments and doing a feature with MTV Asia. Manish is going to take us to another club today, but frankly I don’t care that much if the club is good, as long as your in good company you will have a good time anyway.

All the best,

Note that this blog was supposed to be up earlier, but I had some problems getting it up. I hope it′s okay anyway!

Hello,

Oskar “ins” here, I’m writing my first of many blogs here on the Fnatic page.
I just got back from a restaurant in Gothenburg were I had dinner with dsn.
It feels great to be in a team like Fnatic with some nice players that lives in the same city as yourself so you can hang out even outside of the game.
Anyways, we didn’t have any practice today because Archi had to go to Stockholm for the day to fix his visa for India, haha. The guys at the Indian embassy in Stockholm were not so cooperative with us so we've had a hard time getting our visas. Now it seems like we all got them and heading for India on Thursday. It’s going to be great with a proper PR-tour and exciting to see India too, since I’ve never been over there. I’ve heard they got some nice sunny weather instead of the cold and windy weather we have to put up to here in Sweden.

It feels great that we beat Pentagram yesterday. I must give Pentagram some credit -they’re a really good team both tactical and skill wise. We didn’t start out very good. We lost the knife round so we had to start out as T on train, which isn’t the easiest of halves. Anyway we managed to win the pistol round after some clutch work from cArn. Then we had a hard time on the ecos, me and f0rest got smashed from taz deagle when we tried to enter bombspot B, but the guys made up for our mistake and took the round down. On the forth round cArn went crazy and did some incredible AK headshots. We were up 5-0, but then Pentagram took control and played really well, especially Luq with his awp. I played bad the first half and it was so annoying since it was my first game with Fnatic, and I wanted to show you guys my skills. After 6-9 as T we felt pretty confident that we could win the game. We won the pistol round and took an easy lead. I played better as CT and managed to win some clutch rounds. At the score 15-13 I ended up in a 1on1 situation against Kuben behind the b1 bomb train. He had planted the bomb and was hiding behind the 5th train. I thought since I had a lot of time to defuse I could just try to hold the defuse. He would never think that I would be so stupid to defuse all the way with such a time advantage. Anyways he didn’t call my bluff and we won! It felt great of course to beat such a strong team in my first game with Fnatic. I must say that I’m impressed with all the Fnatic players in the way they play during a match.

Now I’m going to go pack my bag for India and maybe play some CSDM with dsn.
Hope you didn’t get too bored with my blog.

Good evening.

Just came up from a superb dinner in the hotel restaurant, I enjoyed a Caesar salad and pasta carbonara if you would like to know :).
I thought a great ending of this hectic day, would be to write a blog, so here you go, enjoy guys!

The day(see 26/1-07) started as usual for me and hopefully for you too, in a bed. I still felt jetlagged, but the breakfast buffet was closing so í ran down to fill up with some energy for the upcoming day.
After breakfast, we gathered up the team to move over to the venue, which is a gaming exhibition, for both consoles and PC, with loads of people and companies try to marketing their products.

After we had been introduced to this new enviroment we had some interviews with Indian televisions, a quite difficult task, since I′m not a master of the english and the indians way to speak english is seldom easy to understand.
The interviews went by and the arrangers told us that next on the agenda would be a showmatch versus the best team of India, A+E.
The map for today was de_inferno, and after a TERRIBLE! start from myself, we managed to beat them with comfortable 16-9.

When the match was over the arrangers called it quit for today, and we could go back to the hotel for some relaxing and dinner.

Anyway, as you already might understand, everything is nice over here. The people from Reliance World who brought us down here acting really professional, and friendly, so I couldn′t be more happy.

Thank you for reading this blog, hope you will continue support me and of course my team this upcomming year, see you soon.

Hey. ^_^

　　Zaijian(这里CArn是用拼音写的,他说最近都在努力学习中文。)

Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg

Hello everyone,
im here to write a small blog about the upcoming trip to the United States and the previous month.

The life here in M?lndal, Gothenburg has been pretty simple, actually, to simple.
My weeks here has been all about gaming, i wake up around 3-4pm, get something to eat, walks over to the computer doing some reading on the usual homepages. After that i try to do some warmup (Quake4 vs.Archi/dsn) or maybe some CSDM for only a few min since I dont like playing public that much. When im done eating and doing my warmup the clock is usually 5pm which is the time we start doing the things that matters, tactics. We start things off by discussing our old tactics, what might go wrong and how to fix it after that we try to maybe watch some demos and come up with some new tactics which we're going to try at our practice games which usually starts at 6pm-7pm and goes on to 11-12pm.

After we're done with the training we try to play some mixes afterwards just to improve our individual skill.
When thats done, i try to relax maybe watch some series for an hour or something, after that the fun starts, horrormovies. Me, Archi and Tentpole is just watching horrormovies like crazy. We can watch up to 3 movies per night, minimum has been 1 movie. Thats basically how the weeks have been here,
all about gaming. We're about to leave to the United States, I feel really prepered going into WSVG Finals and CPL Winter 2006.

Lets see if the training pays off (which i think it will) and ofcourse im looking forward to some sightseeing in New York, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, China town (all though i've been to china i wanna see it there too) and much more, I hope. As it looks now it seems to be a promising time there in the United States.

Will write a blog about our trip in the United States afterwards!

Wish us Good Luck!

Yours Truly, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg.

* Wonderbase 外传:

cArn's Blog for Cs.cga.com.cn

Ni hao all readers.
So this weeks its my turn to write a fnatic blog on your site, what an honour.
My current location when im writing this blog is at a train between my homecity Karlstad and Gothenburg, there I will meet up with my dear teammates for further praccticing in our fnatic flat.

I follow the previously bloggers and start with a small introduction.
My name is Patrik Sattermon, probably more known as cArn in the cs community :)
I'm 21 years old , born 1985. Which makes me the oldest guy in the clan, a huge responsibility in other words :)
As I told earlier im from the city Karlstad, one o the 20ths biggest city in Sweden with approximitly 80 000 citizen, a population size which probably not make a big impressions for you guys over in China, in fact you got more CS players than the whole Swedish population :)
But for me this town is perfect, its here where im born and have all friends and relatives and it's a really peaceful place to be.

Outside CS and the gaming my others intrests are sports, travelling, hanging out with friends and other regular stuffs.
The gaming has pretty much taken over my previously big passion soccer, and I dont play it very often anymore, in fact im not a very physical person at the moment, but I try to do running excercises 2 times a week.
Despite that CS has ruin my physical strenghth :D it has given me the opportunity to travel all over the world and see so many places. Its the best feeling in the world to be on the road and see new places and cultures.

Our last trip as you probably know was our Asia trip in September and October, first we were to Singapore for the CPL stop, which we managed to win undefeated :)
We stayed in Singapore for about an week, and i totally fell in love with that country.
Very nice enviroment and friendly people, so much to see and do. Im really hope I can go back there someday....

After Singapore we headed for Chengdu and the WSVG stop, our performance at that tournament was not good at all, just ended up 5th place :(
Maybe we underestimate some of the teams we met and that is really sad, cause it would be awesome to win a event such as that since we were the only foreign team, but hopefully there will be lots of tournaments in 2007 we can show our best sides.

From Chengdu we fly to Beijing for Kode5 finals, hungry for revenge after the failure in Chengdu we get us into the playoffs but sadly was eliminated from the tournament from our landsmen NiP, ended up 5-8 place.
Despite we didn磘 performed too well in Asia i will remember it with joy. Outside the games we had a lovely time. Did so many funny things like visiting the great wall and the giant pandas in Chengdu. But of course it felt good to go back to Sweden after 3 weeks on the road, eat the swedish food, and use the swedish language. And of course see all my friends and family :)

As you probably know our next event will be WSVG finals New York in December, and to be able to be in good shape during this we decided to move to a flat together for LAN practice.
So now im sitting here with my team, in a flat outside Gothenburg, playing loads both as team and invidually.
It磗 always hard to predict results, but I really think we can do very well in USA.

Well thats probably it for this time, i want to thank for all support we've got during our stay in China, its just awesome to play in your country. And at last, i would like to say hi to all i met in China, love and respect! see you soon.
zai jian

* Wonderbase:
A funny thing about this tournamet was that our little friend Harley(dsn) forgot to bring his Dell XPS (laptop), and its just typical behavour from this guy to forgot stuffs. So far the last three months he has lost:
- One cellphone
- A bunch of boxer shorts at the Frankfurt airport
- A big bag with all his clothes, at a gate Arlanda Airport
- A digital camera in a Taxi in Qingdao
He also manage to throw away a bag of clothes in the garabage in his home.

Well, except for his lack of memory , he is a good guy afterall :) And the admins at Wonderbase were so friendly they let one of their own PCs to Harley :)
